My name is Kirsten. I grew up in bright and sunny California. I attended a catholic elementary school, had a disastrous affair with public junior and senior high schools, procrastinated by going to a local Junior College for my AA and then moved on to California State University at Chico where they honored me with a very expensive piece of paper after a couple years. While there, I learned how to chug a pitcher of beer and how to play Mexicali - both skills which have since deteriorated to nothing not many years later.
In early 2002, some crazy Austrians offered me a job in the middle of Europe. An opportunity to see something new and travel around Europe every weekend was not something I could pass up, and I stayed in Vienna until the end of 2006. I may not have travelled around the continent every single weekend, but I saw enough to know I loved it there. I currently live in an apartment in Downtown Vancouver, BC with my other half and our adorable cat, Mia.
Upon arrival in BC, I promptly acquired some camera gear and set off to teach myself how to use it all. I'm not trained or properly educated in photography, yet. Until I swear allegiance to the Queen, turn over my U.S. passport for a Canadian one and learn to like maple syrup, I am disallowed from attending any serious education facility here in BC. So in the meantime, I've been studying up on Canadian history over pancake breakfasts and learning all the words to God Save the Queen. It's nothing like Hail to the Chief.
