From the bottom of the stack

Seriously, I'll cut this down. I will. Soon. When I'm not busy clearing off that shelf in my freezer for my ice cream maker. Or when I'm not making cupcakes. And icing. And shoving the iced cupcakes in my mouth. All of which I plan to do from now until tomorrow. Just after I go out in the sunshine and maybe buy some things from some stores. Until I do all those things, lookit what Granville Street looks like at night through a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM lens. Isn't it real purty!?

Presents for me! Oh, and a Lil Bit Two Lip Cray Zee

I decided on a lens, and I bought it. This is what I bought: Canon Zoom Lens EF 70-200mm 1:4 L USM I lurve it. Lurve. Lots.

And then I went out when it went all sun-shiney here and I took pictures. Of wow - lots of things. And also, lots of tulips. See?

Testing the waters

I'm hunting for a nice new lens. I want something with greater focal length, but I don't need telephoto lengths just yet. I figure between 105 and 200mm max should do me just fine. I'm of course keeping an eye on the budget and am contemplating the canon 28-105 EF USM, canon 28-135 IS, and the sigma 55-200 which would require me to carry my kit lens and my zoom lens with me at all times. However, the sigma seems to be quite light and not much of a burden at all.

I have gone and tested out all three of these lenses and I'm still undecided. I have read all the reviews from the sites that I have linked to on the sidebar. I have read reviews on message boards and retailer sites. I went into stores and talked to people that sell these things. The only thing I know right now is that I loved (test) shooting with the 28-105. The others were nice, but I distinctly recall really liking that focal range.

So, I thought I'd take a look through the shots I took when I was testing lenses. Below is a test shot to look at. Its of no real artistic value. Test shot taken with a Canon 28-105mm EF USM lens. I really enjoyed testing it out. If anyone has any input, good, bad or otherwise about the 28-105 lens, please feel free to comment, email, or go to my flickr page and mail/comment. Same goes for the 28-135 IS and the 55-200 sigma.
